Brr, It’s Chilly Coconut Chai Latte

I first tried Myth Coconut at Mercantile 1888 in Collingswood, NJ. I was instantly a fan. It’s light and coconutty. Not that fake sticky sweet coconut flavor, but a really well-balanced rum inspired spirit. I knew I’d be drinking it non-stop all Summer long.

I’ve been on a bit of a Chai binge lately, particularly on the weekend when I’m taking some time away from coffee. (I know- gasp- but it really has been a good thing!) One Friday evening as I was looking to make myself a evening beverage, I came across some cold brewed Chai in the fridge. It was begging me to take it out and make a cocktail with it. Then it hit me- I have Myth Coconut in my cabinet! I started playing around, and the result was a Coconut Chai Latte.

Now I’ve had this drink Iced all Summer long, but as the weather started to cool off, I realized I hadn’t written up this recipe for my blog. Luckily for me, this drink also works well warm! I can tell I’m going to be enjoying Coconut Chai Lattes by the fire on the regular. And now that I’ve gotten this recipe written up to share, you can enjoy it too!

Brr, It’s Chilly Coconut Chai Latte

Makes 1 drink.

Ingredients:

1 C Chai, brewed

1/4 C Coconut Milk (canned, full fat)

1 1/2 Oz Myth Coconut Cane Spirit

Ice (for Iced Lattes)

Directions:

If making an Iced Latte, add Ice to your glass.

Pour Chai into a glass or mug.

Stir Coconut Milk while still in the can, to ensure that it’s fully combined. (I used a milk frother, which works perfectly here.)

Pour Coconut Milk into your glass/mug.

Add Myth Coconut to the drink.

Enjoy!

Notes:

  • Feel free to add any coconut rum in place of Myth.

  • Two great places to purchase Myth, especially if you’re in the Philly area: Mercantile 1888 and Wallace Dry Goods

  • A few favorite Chai are this one (decaf) and this one.
