Tropical Ginger Bliss

Decide what kind of life you want and then say no to everything that doesn’t align with it. That’s how I came to the conclusion that I didn’t need alcohol anymore. I'm at a place in my life where I’m truly, truly happy. Everything in my life feels aligned, but then everyonce in a while, I’d realize something just didn’t add up. The “thing” in the equation that was off- it was alcohol.

I’ve reduced or eliminated things in my life (including people), that keep me from being my best. And while I’d really reduced my alcohol intake the past few years, I knew every time I’d have that one drink at dinner, I wouldn’t get the sleep I’d worked so hard to improve. I wouldn’t feel hungover, but I wouldn’t feel 100%. Life is too short not to show up 100%. Decision made. Let’s do this.

My decision to stop drinking is a personal decision. One that not everyone will agree with. And that’s fine. I’m not living my life for anyone but me, so let’s be honest- I really don’t give a damn what other people think. It’s not been even a month into the new year, but already I can see how it’s changed how I approach my free time. And I’m so grateful for the friends who are along for the ride, exploring new ideas, places and beverages with me, whether or not they still drink.

Now for the cocktail… I make hibiscus tea constantly. It’s delicious, and couldn’t be easier to brew. Last time I made it, I added a zeroproof gin and some ginger beer, and instantly fell in love. This drink is a refreshing blend of hibiscus and ginger- vibrant flavors and an invigorating aroma. Make yourself a Tropical Ginger Bliss tonight and escape the cold without leaving home!
